This year AWM will be hosting a chsrity event called The Nerd Olympics to take place on April 14th, location tbd. Teams will sign up as groups of four and compete in fun nerdy games, such as trivia, puzzle games and more. There will be a variety of prizes from local venues including Sprinkle, Shop House, Crepeaway and many more. Each player makes a small donation to play and all money will go to For Love of Children, a free tutoring initiative in DC to help students who have fallen below grade level in math and reading. AWM is excited to host this new event. We hope to have a lot of fun and to help FLoC.
Upcoming Spring Networking Event!
Join us on Thursday, April 3rd at 7:30pm in Funger 103 for our Spring Networking Event! This event will feature a panel of graduate students and professors in mathematics and computer science to answer all of your questions about research, graduate school, and careers in these areas. A networking reception will follow. All interested students are welcome to attend! Business casual attire is recommended.

January General Body Meeting
Due to schedule craziness, our January General Body Meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 4th at 8:30pm in Philips 414B. We will be talking about spring events as well as EBoard openings for next year! We will have study group in the same room immediately following the meeting.

Winter Networking Event
If you are wondering what to do with a math major (or any quantitative major, like econ, finance, or physics), the answer is pretty much anything your heart desires – but don’t take our word for it! Come out to our winter networking event on Thursday, December 5th from 6-8pm in Government Hall 101! There will be a panel of mathematicians working in a variety of fields, followed by a networking reception with food and beverages. Business casual attire is recommended. All levels of interest in mathematics are welcome! Invite your friends!
